SANITATION TRAINING AT DHUNCHE

A new latrine was built in Dhunche by Nepal Scouts, Rasuwa District. The construction was supported by the Finland-Nepal Partnership Project (F-NPP). The latrine consists of two restrooms, one for boys and one for girls, and a bathroom with a shower.

The latrine was inaugurated on Saturday 27th of May on the presence of local officials from health, administration, development and education sectors, district scouts, civil society representatives, teachers, a journalist and Project Officers and volunteers from the F-NPP as well as students from the local school.
The latrine will be open and used by all the locals in Dhunche, Rasuwa. It will be looked after by the local scout troop which runs in the Dhunche Higher Secondary School Rasuwa.

Sanitation training by a Doctor from District Health Office was organized after the opening ceremony as part of the project. Also a second training for all the school students and local people of Dhunche will be organized in a near future. Educational and promotional material including posters, calendars and brochures concerning sanitation, good hygiene and health was distributed to the participants.
