Hiking with Propose – A digital initiate at Conservation area

Under the theme of “Environment and Sustainability” of Messenger of Peace, Nepal Scouts along with MRR group have initiated a digital interaction in conservation area. Entitled “Hiking with Purpose”, the program provides opportunity for hiker scouts and non-scouts to be able to scan the QR code that are at the trunk of the tree and know about the plants in the area.

As a pilot of the program, 7 QR-code scanning plates are initially installed at Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Nepal Scouts is now working on the institutional framework to initiate the program in all seven provinces in the next phase. They are also working on the connectivity for the hikers as scanning QR-code requires an internet connection. The program aims to initiate the interaction between human and environment. This is supposed to support in global youth action to protect the environment and its components to maintain the ecosystem for the future generation.
