Nepal Scouts 1st Course for Leader Trainer(CLT)

Nepal Scouts has successfully organized the first historic Course for Leader Trainers(CLT) with the enthusiastic participation of 25 Assistant Leader Trainers including 1 International Participant from The Scout Association of Maldives at Hyatt Place, Kathmandu, Nepal from 9th April 2022 to 15th April 2022.

The training course was organized with valuable support from WOSM Asia Pacific Support Center, had a team of International Trainers, Mr. Antong S. Rahmat from Singapore Scout Association, Mr. Mozahid Hossain from Bangladesh Scouts, Mr. Mohamed Nazeef  from The Scout Association of Maldives along with the constructive presence of Mr. Syd Castillo, Director for Educational Methods, World Scout Bureau, Asia Pacific Regional Support Center and Leader Trainers from Nepal Scouts. The course was led by Mr. Devraj Ghimire, Chairperson of WOSM APR Educational Methods Sub-committee. The trainers from Nepal Scouts Mr. Bijendra Dhwoju, Mr. Shiva Bahadur Bhandari, Mr. Kamal Bahadur Deuja, Mr. Achyut Prajapati and Mr. Ram Prasad Bhattarai served in the course as resource persons and tutors along with professional staffs of Nepal Scouts Educational Methods department. The highest level training of Trainers for Unit Leaders, CLT aimed to meet the need of competent National Leader Trainers at Nepal Scouts for achieving the organizational vision and mission.

 

In the opening ceremony, the director of Nepal Scouts Mr. Ram Prasad Bhattarai welcomed all the trainers and participants on behalf of the National Coordinator and Nepal Scouts and hoped this course would take Nepal Scouts into another level of development of training quality trainers. Course Leader Ghimire told that this historic training will be a milestone for massive growth and development of Nepal Scouts aligned with the national vision.

The closing ceremony was organized in the valuable presence of dignitaries from Nepal Scouts and Asia Pacific Region, WOSM including Hon. Dale Corvera, Chairman, WOSM, APR and Mr. JR C. Pangilinan, Regional Director, WSB, APR Support Center.

Mr. JR reminded the participants about the scout sign in three words; First- Thanksgiving in which he thanked all the concerned ones involved in making the training a success, Second – Celebrating the successful completion of training course and, Third – Challenging for which he challenged the participants to continue the course and complete all the necessary requirements to obtain the four beads and continue doing volunteering work in the movement.

 

Hon. Dale Corvera, in his key remarks expressed that through the training, Nepal Scouts has achieved its dream to have a new generation of the trainers and motivated the participants that it is the responsibility of the participants to be aware about fulfilling the dreams of Nepal Scouts and therefore participants must have to commit themselves to actively conduct trainings so that the leaders in the Nepal Scouts will be also trained.

 

The national coordinator of Nepal Scouts, Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari in his closing remarks mentioned that Nepal Scouts was in need of competent Trainers to achieve the Vision 2023 of Nepal Scouts. The training is expected to fulfill the need and the participants are in a historic role in having a very important role to provide strategic direction to Nepal Scouts through upcoming Unit leaders Training Courses that will be organized in every nook and corner of the country.
