Trainers Seminar 2023

Nepal Scouts organized Trainers Seminar 2023 from 7th – 9th June 2023 at Hotel Tibet International, Bouddha, Kathmandu. The main objective of this workshop was to incorporate the inputs of National Leader Trainers and Assistant National Leader Trainers of Nepal Scouts in preparation and updating process of Policies, documents, Programmes and activities of Nepal Scouts on Adults in Scouting and Youth Programme Priority Areas out of the six strategic priority areas of Vision 2032. A total of 105 participants (61 Male and 38 Female Members of National Training Team of Nepal Scouts along with 6 Provincial coordinators as the observers) participated in the event.
The event was inaugurated by the revealing of the Trainers Seminar 2023 Event Scarf jointly by National Coordinator, Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari and Former Chief Commissioner, Mr. Shree Ram Lamichhane in the presence of Members of National Ad-Hoc Committee, Mr. Bijendra Dhowju and Mr. Shiva Bahadur Bhandari, Mr. Devraj Ghimire, National Leader Trainer and WOSM, APR, Educational Committee Chairperson, Ms. Prerana Shakya, WAGGGS, Global Programs Manager and Mr. Ram Prasad Bhattarai, Director, Nepal Scouts.
The beads and scarf distribution to the newly appointed Assistant and National Leader Trainers was done by Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari, National Coordinator and Ms. Bhuwan Subba, National Leader Trainer.
In the event, the theme of the first day was based on the Youth programme priority area. The theme of the second and the third day of the event was based on Adults in Scouting priority area, Membership Growth and Child and adult safeguarding.
The sectional youth programme is also incorporating and highlighting the adolescent psychosocial health along with 5 dimensional components of youth program which were discussed among the leaders to revise as per the current dynamics of youth population.
The recommendation committee comprising of 9 members presented the recommendations based on the overall discussion and inputs of participants on Seven major areas (Criteria and Requirements of LT/Diploma Course, Criteria and requirements of ALT/Certificate Course, Revision of Training System with the incorporation of Introductory and Sectional Specialization Courses, Criteria and requirements for Introductory and Sectional Specialization course, Sectional Youth Programme, Provisions for Beads Renewal and Termination and 75 Hours Venture Scout Youth Programme contents). The recommendations were carried on with the agreement of most votes from participants.
The closing ceremony was attended by the National Coordinator, Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari, Member of National Ad-Hoc Committee Members and representatives from WOSM and WAGGGS.
In the closing remarks, Mr. Bhandari, National Coordinator shared that he is very thankful to the National Training Team Members for providing their valuable input and recommendations to the National Executive Committee in the preparation of Policies, Documents, Programmes and Activities for Nepal Scouts.
