Women in Lead workshop

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2021, Nepal Scouts has organized a “Women in Lead workshop” today. With the theme of #choosetochallange total of 71 (young women) participants from the different districts were actively participated in the event. There were 5 panelists oriented young women on the topic of 1. Women in lead, 2. Women in STEM 3. Period Poverty 4. Women in SDGs and 5. Empowerment & Opportunities in guiding and scouting for women and girls.
The chief guest of the workshop was Honorable Member of the Parliament Ms. Binda Pandey, she had also taken a session on “Women in Lead”. On the very occasion of International Women’s Day 2021, Nepal Scouts has also Honored two young leaders for their outstanding contribution to the Scouting and Guiding movement. National Coordinator of Nepal Scouts Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari presented the certificate of Honor to Ms. Nirmala Shrestha from Sindhupalchok and Ms. Saru Gosai from Bhaktapur for their tremendous contribution to make their project successfully, they are the leaders of the 3L and YESS project respectively.
National Coordinator of Nepal Scouts Mr. Lok Bahadur Bhandari expresses his commitment to support young women to lead the whole organization in near future. The workshop was organized with the direct support of YESS alumni. The Director of Nepal Scouts has answered the questions from the participants on contemporary issues. He also encouraged young women to step forward to lead the organization. The global manager of WAGGGS Ms. Prerana Shakya also participated in the workshop as a panelist.
