13th AP Regional Conference

[:en]13th Asia Pacific Regional Conference of World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) has ended last week after electing a new working committee under the Chair of Winnie She Tsui from Hong Kong.
The regional conference that kicked off in New Taipei City on August 13 and ended on August 17, 2019, by electing a six-member executive committee. The tenure of this new committee will be for three years.
Bronwyn Hughes from Girl Guides Australia was elected as the committee’s new vice-president while the members included Maiya Twayanabasu from Nepal Scouts, Katheri Anna Charcos-Puyo from Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Aya Inaura from Girl Scouts of Japan, Champaka Emalin Pahamin from Girl Guides Association of Malaysia.
Nepal Scouts send Ms. Maiya Twayanabasu for the nomination for the candidate of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee and for the first time in the history of Nepal Scouts to secure the position as an elected member of the APR Committee-WAGGGS. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO MAIYA TWAYANABASU. Our best wished for the successful tenure.
Rabina Paudel, Scout Leader was the observer of the APR Conference and nominate as a Young Women Ambassador after the participation in the Young Women in Governance Workshop on 12th August 2019.
During the Regional Conference, participants discussed ways to develop leadership among young women in the Region and WAGGGS’s achievements till the date and made future plans.
The 13th Asia Pacific Regional Conference will be held in Thailand in 2022.
