Organizational Structure and Working mechanism of WOSM including Better World Framework

The reflection on the previous session held on 15th August, 2020 on “Organizational structure and working mechanism of WAGGGS including Initiative of WAGGGS”  led by Ms. Maiya Twyanabasu, Member, AP regional committee, WAGGGS, was presented by Mr. Suraj Khanal, Assistant Leader Trainer, Nepal Scouts.

The main session was then delivered by S. Prassanna Shrivastava, Director, Organizational Development and MoP APR support Center, WOSM on the topic Organizational Structure and working Mechanism of WOSM including Better Work Framework”. He delivered updated contents on the structure and working mechanism of WOSM. In addition, he provided insights to the participants on the website of WOSM. Similarly, he explained about WOSM services which include:

  1. Youth Programme             
  2. Youth Engagement             
  3. Adults in Scouting
  4. Safe from Harm               
  5. Diversity and Inclusion       
  6. Humanitarian Action
  7. Better World Framework   
  8. Spiritual Development

He also discussed the Better World Framework and its purpose which include:

  1. Contribute to SDGs    
  2. Demonstrate Social Impact   
  3. Boost one of, any aspects to become active citizens
  4. Collective and integrated effort
  5. Inspire local action for global impact
  6. Align with Youth Programme
  7. Incorporate Community members.

In the same manner, he explained about the Key actors in Better World Framework, these are:

  1. Young people in the lead Scouts of all ages.
  2. WOSM and NSOs
  3. Community Actors
  4. Provides insights to Young People.
  5. Partners
  6. Provides knowledge, financial support and Developing capacities.

Moving further in the session, he explained about the Programmes under Better World Framework such as:

  1. Messenger of Peace       
  2. World Scout Environment Programme 
  3. Scouts of Solar
  4. SAFE FROM HARM         
  5. Dialogue for Peace     
  6. Scouts of the World- du monde
  7. Ticket to Life                 
  8. Earth Tribe.

At last, he explained in detail about What Youth Programme is, Why is it necessary?, How we do it (The Scout Method- 8 elements).

The participants were suggested to visit the website www.scouts.org, register themselves to stay updated and create the project in any language and upload it which includes:

  1. The services provided,
  2. Positive changes by the services provided,
  3. Who got benefited,
  4. Who all participated,
  5. Action Photographs etc.

The fourth-day session entitled “Organizational Structure and working Mechanism of WOSM including Better World Framework”, conducted by Mr.  S. Prassanna Shrivastava, Director, Organizational Development and Mop APR support Center, WOSM was actively attended with 63 participants. Mr. Bijendra Dhowju, Member, Ad-Hoc Committee concluded the session with his closing remarks.
